Application of Radio Technologies in Public Switching Telephone Network
Abstract
There are fixed and mobile operators, that provide basic telephone services in Lithuania. However, the waiting list for the fixed telephone line installation is still big. In this paper we analyse possibilities of applications of radio technologies to use them as alternative way to provide fixed telephone services. For this purpose we analyse the model of the traffic in the cellular network, describe experimental parameters of this traffic model measurement and their dependence on service prices. In this paper there is considered a base station (BS) network and their coverage zone planning which would allow to the telephone network operator to minimize quantity of BS places and costs of installation and maitenance as well.Published
