Abstract

Some problems of colours recognition arising during automation of the colour CRT tuning process are discussed. Colour camerasare used for picking up the test pattern from the CRT screen. Problems due to the overlapping and non-ideality of the spectralcharacteristics of the CRT phosphors and camera’s optical filters arise then. The mathematical model of the camera’s colour outputsignal is proposed. The model comprises both spectral characteristics of the CRT phosphors and camera’s optical filters. Two methodsfor the colour recognition are proposed – method of maximum, and method of colours ratio. Comparison of the methods was arrangedby applying the model of signals along with real spectral characteristics. The results of modelling and conclusions are given.
