Liquid Level Control using Fuzzy Logic
Abstract
The paper deals with the liquid level control in the heterogeneous tank using Proportional Integral (PI) and Fuzzy logic controllers. Fuzzy logic and the concepts of membership function, fuzzy sets are introduced and the model of the architecture of fuzzy controller is presented. The article provides mathematical and simulation models of the liquid tank and level control system and discusses simulation results obtained using MATLAB Simulink Toolbox. The simulation results of liquid level control “downwards” show large overshoot and long settling time when using traditional PI controller. These dynamic characteristics can be substantially improved with the use of fuzzy logic controller. Ill. 9, bibl. 6 (in Lithuanian; summaries in Lithuanian, English, Russian).
