To develop electric vehicle (EV) is an efficient method to deal with energy shortage and environment pollution. Based on the comparison among three battery charging modes, this paper first clarifies the advantage of battery swapping mode. Compared with normal charging mode and fast charging mode, battery swapping mode is much easier to control the charging and discharging behaviour of EVs. Reflect on the load curve, the load curve of EV battery swapping stations (EVBSS) have more potential to be optimized. Then, the profit pattern, load characteristics and effects to grid of the mode is analysed in detail. After that, an optimal charge/discharge strategy for an EVBSS is established and studied. And the optimized load curve of an EVBSS can be obtained. Furthermore, sensitivity analysis is made to improve the profit of the EVBSS. Finally, some conclusions are made, and some suggestions for electric vehicle development are prospected.
