Investigation into Electric Braking of Linear Induction Motors in Lithuania
Abstract
A paper is devoted to the 30-th anniversary of investigation into electric braking of linear induction motors in Lithuania. There are discussed results of carried out research and engineering works: problems, theoretical research as well as questions of application and directions of further investigations. Scientific research was began in the Departmental laboratory of linear induction motors that was functioned in the Vilnius Civil Engineering Institute during 1970-1976 years. The there was made 3 PhD dissertations and 1 habilitation work in the field of theory and application of linear induction motors braking. Results of these research works were published in many scientific magazines, presented and discussed in various scientific conferences of Europe and Asia. The main obtained results are: designed and investigated new models of linear induction motors with consideration of limited dimensions of inductor and secondary parts, there were developed methods to investigate and calculate static and dynamic characteristics of low speed linear induction motors, considering influence of acceleration into dynamic process, developed new methods and devices of braking of linear induction motors. They were certificated by former inventions. Ill. 10, bibl. 8 (in Lithuanian; summaries in Lithuanian, English and Russian).
