Abstract

The article presents investigation into dynamic and steady-state operating modes of dampers which secondary in made from copper or different thickness of aluminium. Dampers are equipped with linear induction motors (LIM) controlled by alternating current pulses. The series and parallel circuits are applied to investigate linear motors. The main dependence of motor current against slip are obtained. It is staled that increase in thickness of LIM secondary 2 mm gives steady-state characteristics very close to that when material of secondary are changed from aluminium to copper. For modelling of dynamic regimes is used model in translating with synchronous speed reference frame. Investigation of dynamic characteristics shows that transient time of speed at pulse duration 10% of pulse period is some tens times longer that at pulse duration 80%. Dependence of average speed against pulse with is made. Analytical expressions to calculate LIM speed at different thickness of secondary are derived.
