The new requirements for the newcontrol systems are the distribution and decentralisation of system units, knowledge and skills, definite communication mechanisms forthe integration of distributed system units, the fast adaptation in the control and the reaction to disturbances (failures and changes oforganization) and interaction between physical devices. After comparing both traditional approach and agent-based approach, it ispossible to find out the benefits of each approach: platform independency, code re-usability, distribution and autonomy, pluggingintelligence.
