Abstract

This paper presents a novel framework for the design of controllers and observer, based on simulations, for discrete-event systems. The framework mainly considers a discrete-event system, a discrete-event controller and a discrete-event observer. The structure of the control scheme implements proper Matlab functions capturing the behavior of these entities. A Simulink model uses the functions for simulating a closed-loop system where the controller uses the estimated state produced by an observer as feedback. The graphs produced by the simulations allows to the engineer for tuning important parameters of the system under study.
