Abstract

The goal of three-year-long E-Girls- Towards technology -project was to increase the number of female students in technology by making it easier for them to find their way, to the fields of electrical engineering and electronics. A web course, Electricity, electronics and environment, for senior secondary school students was designed and realized during the project. The course consisted of web material, exercises and a book written for the course. In the design of the web-course and the study material the interests of young women were considered. A total of 107 students completed the course, 54 of them being girls. Feedback was quite positive. The students found the course useful.
