Abstract

The mathematical model of the compact fluorescent lamp (CFL) was created. This model included variable parameters such as length and radius of lamp tube, gas pressure, resistance of electrodes. Using ESACAP software, it allows calculating electrical and energy parameters of CFL as well as inner parameters of lamp plasma of most lamp ballasts. Those parameters were investigated when lamp was fed by DC with AC component at frequencies ranging from 222 to 2.08 kHz. Relation of source voltage, ballast inductance and working frequency of set CFL-ballast was obtained. Lamp resonance radiation efficiency was determined, the influence of the various factors to lamp characteristics was analyzed.
